Writer-ish

Come, get to know my writer aesthetic!

LINKS/APPS FOR WRITERS AND ARTISTS

  1. Noisli: Noisli lets you create a fake, yet surreal environment to help you relax and make you more productive. You can opt for almost any sound of nature and adjust it according to your preferences.
  2. Rainy Mood: Unlike Noisli, Rainy Mood only offers what its name suggests- the sound of rain. But it also gives you a daily suggestion of a song that would harmonise with it.
  3. StumbleUpon: StumbleUpon is a great place for both artists and writers. With just one click, you can stumble upon an interesting blog and also kill boredom.
  4. Google Keep: Nothing beats sticky notes, but Google Keep is a keeper. It lets you jot down notes, draw, make checklists, add reminders and has quite a few colours to choose from.
  5. Rusty Lake:Rusty Lake is actually a team that creates indie games. I included this site in this list because their games are quite challenging and help improve your thinking capacity. Start with their cube escape series and you'll know what I am talking about. Then you can try their two premium games (that cost up to only Rs 200) as well.

My answers

What's your favourite letter of the alphabet?
I am tempted to say 'V' but that would give you all an excuse to call me a narcissist, so I'm going with A, which has a backstory I'm not going to tell you because it won't appear as funny as it was when it happened. :D

What are three words that you love?
Oooh tough one. It took me quite a while to highlight these three:

Moonbow
[moon-boh]
-Noun: a rainbow caused by the refraction and reflection of light from the moon.

Casket
[kas-kit, kah-skit]
-Noun: a coffin or a small chest or box, as for jewels.
-Verb: to put or enclose in a casket.

Honeydew
[huhn-ee-doo, -dyoo]
-Noun: the sweet material that exudes from the leaves of certain plants in hot weather;
a sugary material secreted by aphids, leafhoppers, scale insects, psyllids, and other homopterous insects; a variety of melon

*A few others I like: musk, niveous, cottage, akimbo, embellish

If you were to create a word, what would it be and what would it describe?
My answer to this would be "increasion," which in my dictionary would mean the process of increasing. I created this word while writing an essay on population and instead of writing "this would lead to increase in population," I ended up writing "population increasion."

What are your three favourite punctuation marks?
Ellipses (...) They create a beautiful effect in literary works
Semicolon (:) It makes me look smart
Em dash (—) This again adds beauty to a piece of writing. You can read its use here.

Update/Edit- I just found this interesting post about unknown punctuation marks. Click here to see.

What are your three favourite fonts?
I like quite a few of the above lot, but I'll settle at Brusher, Amatic and Satisfy.

Which do you prefer, handwritten or typed notes?
Dude. Handwritten notes are life. Please send me one if you're reading this.
